A year later..

So trying once again trying to work with the the wild frosty beast. Started rough with her not cooperating but it ended well.. I thought it would be all about trying to side pass and Nope it is about figuring out about the saddle and teaching ‘Mom’ to ride better.. Cool lessons . Looking forward to trying again Saturday and see if it can be a HORSE lesson!!!!

:)

Is this a mare or a mule?

slow but steady...

Went for  and we had a hard time another ride on the Frosty beast, and she just did NOT want to stand at the mounting block.. *sigh*. We worked on round pen stuff and around in the turn out, even walked around the back yard (chelli had the lead rope, Frosty has been a little  mule-ish. She did better back in the turn out, but still ‘fighting’ things a bit.  I think tomorrow we will just groom and maybe walk around a bit on the leadline… Going to to try upload pictures  :)

Learning as we go….

Good morning ride for Frosty – the -Zombie horse (my Halloween name for my crazy horse) and we has a bit of a problem with the ‘hold still while Leah mounts’ part, but Chelli helped us figure it out. Then we rode some more and practiced listening to the rider, and some round pen work with the saddle on and then more riding.. We worked out for an HOUR.. Which is really long for us.. Don’t know about the Mare but MY legs are wiggly..  I am so proud of my baby!

The old grey mare…

For the first time in waaay too many moths, I rode Frosty around in the turn out.  Both of us were excited and grumbly. Two old ladies out in 100+ heat trying to ride..  Whose bright idea was this?

We rode around tried to do some side passing and actually managed to trot a little. (ow ow ow!! This was according to both Frosty and myself!). Here is hoping we can start making this a good fall/winter riding season. Who knows, we could even graduate to riding OUT OF the pen!!

Just some pictures from June & July 2009

Frosty showing some spunk in June & July 2009. Some of the poor resolution is because she is soooo far away and this time around my camera is only 3.3 resolution. I don’t usually need the higher resolution cameras but for Frosty I just might. She shows off so far away.

Frosty continues to prove that she’s one of the solid riding mares here on the ranch. Many of the visitors ride Frosty when they come out. It sure is nice having Frosty here!!
